Letter from the Southtown Council President…...

Robin JordanRobin Jordan I am privileged to provide leadership and guidance as Southtown’s new President. In 2014, I look forward to working with the board, community and Council staff. My number one priority is to ensure our members and the community at-large continue to feel the support and benefits through the initiatives of the Southtown Council organization.

I moved to the KC area three years ago to work for the YMCA of Greater KC and serve at the Cleaver Family YMCA, 7000 Troost Avenue. Upon arriving to the area, I was told this area was a very tight knit community and could be difficult to get connected or be accepted. That has not been my experience at all. I must say, this has been one of the most welcoming communities of the many communities where I have lived and worked.

Big Changes are in the Works

And “working” is exactly what the Troost Ave. Troopers and Titans have been doing. It didn’t take long for commuters to see the difference along the Troost Ave. corridor. Fighting temperatures below freezing and winds at record gusts, clean up efforts are underway.
