New UMKC Building Sparkles

blochCompleted for the Fall 2013 semester, the Henry W. Bloch Executive Hall for entrepreneurship and Innovation is the newest addition to UMKC. It houses graduate, executive and entrepreneurship programs. The building was designed by BNIM Architects, in association with Moore, Ruble, Yudell, Architects and Planners, and constructed by JE Dunn.

Inspired by some of the world’s most innovative work spaces, the project team’s goal was to create state-of-the-art space architecture. The design of the building itself aligns with innovative teaching techniques that will further elevate the Bloch School as a world leader in educating and training future generations of leaders in entrepreneurship, innovation and business management.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!

On May 20, at 1:15 in the afternoon, there was a big surprise at the Brookside Neighborhood Office, 3 W. 63 St. An older lady lost control of her car and drove up-and-over the large outdoor planter box and crashed through the picture window, ending up with several feet of her vehicle inside the building! She slowly backed up to the spot where she had intended to park, and walked into the building saying, “I’m sorry about that, but don’t you worry, I have good insurance.”
