I am a senior political science major at University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC). After graduating in May, I plan on pursuing an MPA (Master of Public Affairs/Public Administration). At the moment I am awaiting admissions decisions from several universities in the Midwest. In my free time I enjoy yoga, reading, and volunteering as a dog walker at Wayside Waifs.

Brookside Charter is a kindergarten through 8th grade school chartered by BSDS, INC., a Missouri not-for-profit corporation to operate within the boundaries of the KCMO School District. Brookside opened as a private school in 1956 and received its charter from its sponsor, UMKC, in 2002.

A local Kansas City startup firm and new member of Southtown, Deliver-Rents began this past spring delivering an array of frequently rented home & lawn maintenance equipment directly to residences. After one’s full or half-day rental, Deliver-Rents returns to pick up the machinery.

Each year, the members of the boards from Waldo, Brookside and Southtown gather together for an afternoon of learning, dreaming, and planning about the future of the community. This year, the group worked on ways to champion our area to the rest of the city and encourage more development and reinvestment.
