A Taste of the Arts

You are invited to attend Kansas City Young Audiences “A Taste of the Arts” at 7:30pm on Thursday, Nov. 19. This entertaining evening highlights the professional Teaching Artists who devote considerable talents to teaching the students at the Community School of the Arts (CSA) on the campus of St. Teresa’s Academy. There will be free art activities for children age 5-12 while parents attend the performance.

Hold the Date

Southtown is pleased to announce that Will Shields, retired Chiefs and Founder/Director of the Will to Succeed Foundation will be honored as the Southtown American Citizen Luncheon on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Muehlebach Hotel.

UMKC Campus Sparkles

This month, the Southtown Beautification Committee is doubling your pleasure with two “Sparkle” projects! In August, the $17M Herman and Dorothy Johnson Hall opened with housing for 328 students to accommodate the growth in enrollment and UMKC’s mission to place students at the center of the campus. By dividing residents into eight 41-person communities (wings), the Hall helps students form friendships. The students also can gather in a social lounge, kitchen, classroom and music practice rooms.

Directories are here!

If you have not received a directory and/or would like more copies for yourself and/or your customers, call 816-523-5553. Thanks to all of the members and advertisers that made the directory possible. We encourage everyone to patronize the organizations within The Link!
