Welcome Our New Executive Director – Sean Ackerson

New Executive Director Sean Ackerson joined the Southtown Council on December 14th. Sean and his wife Amy are 19-year residents of KC and are proud parents of two very active elementary school students - Garrett and Brendan. Although a native of Oklahoma, Sean considers Kansas City home. “We love our family and friends elsewhere, but Kansas City is our home. We’ve been in the neighborhood for over 17 years now and Southtown, Waldo and Brookside is my community.”

Troost Avenue District Banners

In October of 2015, The Troost Avenue Community Improvement District added 16 banners throughout the Troost corridor. A light blue banner with a colorful and unique tulip was the winning design from a group of many talented artists. These fun banners can be seen on Troost from 46th Street to 75th Street as well as 63rd Street and Rockhill Road.

Thank you, Southtown!

As we reach the end of 2015, we look back with fond memories and appreciation for all who made the year amazing!  The volunteer boards and committees are the heart and soul of the Southtown, Waldo and Brookside business associations. The success of these three organizations wouldn’t be possible without the countless hours and energy the volunteers provide.
