KC CASH Coalition - V.I.T.A. (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Needs Volunteers

KC CASH (Creating Assets Savings and Hope) is a coalition established in 2003 by non profits, financial institutions, educational institutions, city, state, and federal government organizations, and the business community. KC CASH offers free preparation of federal and state tax returns to low/moderate-income working families in Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas. During the 2005 filing season, 200 volunteers prepared over 3,800 federal returns and over $4, 068,857 in federal refunds were generated. More good people are needed to help make a difference!

A minimum of 3 to 4 hours per week is required. Under the supervision of tax professionals, you will prepare federal and state income tax returns for the current year. If you wish to volunteer, but do not want to prepare tax returns, you can serve as a translator, information assistant, or a greeter. Training begins in January 2007 and is provided for all job types. For more information, visit www.kccash.org or call 816-360-5556.
