Swope Health Services, an affiliate of Swope Community Enterprises, has announced the formation of its new Outreach Employment Services, a program aimed at finding viable employment opportunities for Swope Health Services clients.
“We are thrilled to be able to provide this important new service to the community”, said Candice Biggins, program developer and Employment Specialist. “Our goal is to help equip as many deserving job seekers with the tools and resources they need to find gainful employment, while at the same time meeting the needs of local employers.”
The program provides an array of personnel services as well as employment-centered consultation to area businesses, which includes assisting employers with implementing workforce diversification programs, verification of references and employment histories, and mentoring employers on how their participation in the program can benefit them.
"One of those benefits is the Work Opportunity Tax Credit," said Ms. Biggins. “The WOTC provides a per-employee tax credit of up to $2,400 to businesses for men and women hired from one of the plan’s target groups. We assist businesses by working with challenged candidates who may have had past problems, in order to get them ready for the workforce and headed toward a more productive future.”
