Max is coming to Troost Ave.

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority is now planning and designing for Bus Rapid Transit along the Troost Avenue Corridor. The service is planned from downtown to Bannister Road. It will have fewer stops for faster service; well-lit attractive stations with real-time arrival signs and loaded with information; uniquely designed, accessible shelters; new and distinctive buses; easy and convenient schedules and maps and the latest in GPS technology for reliable, rapid service.

There are three transit committees made up of community representatives, the KCATA and City staff, and the consultants working over the next few months on the designs. In addition, there have been and will be numerous public meetings and open houses along the way for public input. The new rapid transit is expected to be up and running in the spring of 2010.
