Innovest Financial Partners, Inc. stimulates area economy spending $10K to support local businesses

Brad, Barbara and Janine of InnovestSouthtown Council member, Innovest Financial Partners, Inc. announced today it will spend $10,000 in the local economy, focusing on restaurants and small businesses, to help those companies recover from the effects of COVID-19. The plan involves purchasing gift cards from those businesses.

Clients were contacted to learn which restaurant they would choose to have lunch with Innovest Financial Advisors team members when government Stay at Home orders are lifted. The support and interest in the plan confirmed this approach was a good idea.

“We are committed to supporting the business community that has done so much through the years to support us,” said Barbara McMahon, President of Innovest Financial Partners, Inc. “We are concerned about the financial well-being of those companies and frankly, we really miss getting together for face-to-face meetings with our clients. Buying gift cards from those businesses now so we can enjoy spending them on clients later just made a lot of sense to us.”

“On the day we decided to close our office and all work remotely, we began a daily video meeting among all team members. During those calls, a frequent sentiment was a concern for businesses who relied on customers walking through their doors,” said Brad Hemmer, Vice President. “Also, when we talked about the economy and markets with clients, they were also concerned about local businesses and wished they could help. All of this together motivated us to create our Innovest Community Support Plan to help out our local economy as much as we could.”

McMahon & Hemmer, like everyone else, look forward to walking into a restaurant and sitting down face-to-face with their friends and clients.

McMahon is a staunch small business supporter and is very active in the community. She is a current board member of the Southtown Council, serves on the Brookside Events Committee, and volunteers with others from Innovest at the Brookside Art Annual, and annual Brookside shred event, Southtown Showcase and Southtown Awards Luncheon. Southtown Council Executive Director Sean Ackerson said Southtown and Brookside are blessed to work with Innovest and Barbara. "We are blown away by Innovest's generosity! Barbara, Brad, Janine and Bruce are such amazing people. They care so deeply about the community and the many hardworking small businesses that make the area so special. This is just outstanding and the businesses will be so touched."
