More Tulips on Troost

Tulips on Troost made a strong showing in 2009 by planting approximately 15,000 tulips along Troost Avenue and working alongside 100 volunteers throughout the planting season. In addition to the planting events, the organization formed new partnerships, ranging from a new project to be named "Lilies on Linwood," to coordinating with the KCATA to plant tulips at the new Troost MAX bus line stops and stations.

TOT and Southtown also welcomed Maureen Lunn, an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer, as the new project manager for Tulips on Troost. Maureen has focused on spreading the word about Tulips on Troost, fundraising, and coordinating planting events.

It's been a great year and Tulips on Troost looks forward to reaching the goal of one million tulips along Troost Avenue by the end of 2010. Please remember Tulips on Troost and its mission as you enter the New Year and find ways to get involved in the community.
